I found Gary Weeks company on the internet. My sister lives in Houston and I wanted to see this chair so badly, I flew from Seattle to Houston and then we took a little weekend trip to Wimberley, TX. While I felt very comfortable that I could return the chair if I didn’t like it, a trip to see my sister seemed like a fun idea.

I’m so glad I went. I met Gary’s son Austin and a couple other members of their team. They were all very delightful and showed me their shop. They showed me the wood they use and how they put the chairs together. While eating at a restaurant in Wimberley, I saw a rocking chair and could tell it had been made in their shop. The chair in the restaurant was over 10 years old.

When you sit in the rocker, you just want to stroke the wood, it’s that soft. The chair is very comfortable. It fits both my husband and myself. I have a piece of functional art.

Also, the chair was shipped beautifully and I was apprised of when it would be delivered. The entire transaction was seamless from start to finish.

Just a note regarding the rocker and your company. I was really anticipating the arrival of the rocker and even though I had seen photos a number of times on your website I was blown away when I opened the box. Wow, the rocker is a true piece of “functional” art and you and your crew clearly take great pride in your work. To say I’m disappointed to have to return the rocker is an understatement. I appreciate you taking a chance on me and your no-nonsense return policy. I’m sure you receive very few pieces of your furniture back. I’ll spread the word about your fine furniture!

Hi Austin - just a quick update to say the rocking chair has arrived and I love it! All went smoothly with the delivery as planned. The chair itself was lighter than I'd expected, and once we had it out of the crate it was easy to transport up to my suite. I also appreciate that most of your your shipping material can be recycled.

Gary and co....THANKS.
Having gone thru several local high end stores sitting in all they had that looked as if I could tolerate it in the house, when I first
sat in my new cherry rocker, so scant and unbulky and beautiful....amazing. And yes, last nite after couple hours on that beautiful
hardwood my bony bottom was beginning to want some pad… Anyway, you have my gratitude and admiration in full. What a joy to deal with
a craftsman and his family. Am a retired eng. and kinda putter around wood lover and builder of my simple oak desk now holding my laptop.
Believe I can fully appreciate the skill, love and care that went into every aspect, not the least of which is your incredible box and packing.

The only chair I considered at the high end store was a stressless from Sweden or Denmark. It cost 500 more than my chair from you. I asked
the very nice saleswoman "is this like the car dealer, when I leave the shop with the chair there is no option to return? She said that is correct" I said "why
would I risk nearly 3000 to try that??

Anyway, am interested in your pad you are working on, because I KNOW it will work with your chairs....you are that kind of guy.

ps Son visiting here is a structural engineer. He is very impressed, and found it comfy

I’m so glad you got the check! And yes, I received the stool yesterday. It’s absolutely beautiful paired with the rocker, of course—I’ve attached a picture. I also included a photo that hangs on the wall behind it—it’s of the rocker with me and my daughter, for whose birth the rocker was a gift back in 2003. She’s in college now!

Gary Week’s rocker is absolutely the most comfortable rocker around, as this is the last place I sit before climbing into bed. Often I doze off, rocking away.

I own many rocking chairs—from antique mission rockers and caned seated ones to creaky, old wooden ones. I also have rocking chairs on both outside patios—vintage metal rocking chairs that I restored and the polywood rockers. I have a total of 10 rocking chairs dotted in my home or outside areas. If there is a rocking chair in a room, that’s where I want to sit.

With that said, my husband and I recently retired. We wanted chairs in our TV room that were super comfortable and were pleasing to the eye. All I wanted was a rocking chair. My husband googled “best rocking chairs.” We found Gary Weeks. His shop is located in Texas. I am in Philadelphia. I was concerned about purchasing a piece of furniture without sitting in it or even seeing it. I called the shop. Gary immediately called me back. I shared my concerns. He assured me that if I was not totally satisfied with the rocker, he would pay for shipping back and give me a total refund, including the initial shipping cost. So, I thought this could work.

The wood Gary uses is stunning. It is as if sunshine is in the room at all times. The craftsmanship is incredible. I have arthritis in my shoulder. The armrests are perfectly aligned with your spine. I feel no pain or discomfort while sitting in this chair. The back is amazing for lumbar support. If you watch Gary Weeks’s video on his website, it discusses all the comfort points. This was what sold me initially. And, the promises he makes are real. It is the most comfortable chair —hands down—around. It is a piece of art. It is designed to support your body’s structure. As I said in the beginning of this review, Gary Weeks’s rocking chair is the last place I sit before climbing into my bed. It lulls me to sleep. You will not be disappointed.

Here's a little case study. I'm 5 feet 2 inches and sat on the chair right after we got it out of the box (by the way, it was really well packed with padding where it was necessary but no extra garbage, and in a high quality box that had clearly been designed for this chair). Not only did I find it very comfortable, but I also noticed something very unusual: my feet reached the ground when I was sitting. Then it was S.'s turn. There was silence until S. finally said what we were both thinking. If I could reach the ground, the chair was going to be ridiculously tiny for his 6 feet 2 inches.

Well... he tried it and also liked it a lot. We were very impressed by the design. Honestly, I didn't think it'd be possible to make a chair that would be comfortable for body types as different as ours. I'll learn more about Gary and his team on their website. I'm curious now!

Hi Gary,

My wife was quite surprised when she received the rocker and as you would probably expect, my wife loves it. The shape is perfect along with the woodwork. She was also amazed that while it fits her at 5’3” is also fits me at 6’1”. I’m not sure how you accomplished that because we’ve never found a rocker that both of us like. At present, she plans to share it with me. We’ll see how that works out!

From my perspective, I was amazed at the care you took in sending the rocker. It could have been picked up at your factory from the looks of the packaging right off the truck. Upon opening the box, I was exceptionally pleased with the care you took in making sure the rocker would have not even a scratch upon arrival. Your rocker is the best packaged item I’ve ever bought.

Thanks for all your help to make our 50th anniversary a special day for both of us.
