Jealous of your Italian sojourn, I am sure you returned well rested and well fed!

Regarding the rocker: yes — we very much realize now that the value in the piece is frankly lower than the asking price (while also recognizing that the true value would put the rocker out of our reach . . . so we've both come to appreciate your pricing!).

The only problem is that S now claims the rocker as her exclusive domain. Whereas we used to read nighttime stories together while rocking, I'm now relegated to an adjacent seat while S gets to rock comfortably by herself as she listens to the story! I guess it is her chair, ultimately, but I can't say I appreciate being kicked out of it! LOL.

I must send you a picture of some of the grandchildren sitting in the rocker. These beautiful art pieces brought great joy and will be cherished for many years to come. Mr. Weeks — You are amazing! Incredible product support! Wow! I have continued my chair experiments. I believe the problem is with my oriental rug. I have tried the chair in various locations . . . but always facing the television. It occurred to me that perhaps the rug has a nap that might interfere, so I turned the chair's back to the tv. Behold! It travels in the opposite direction! Have you ever heard of this problem before? I fear I may be watching tv at right angles from now on.

Thanks again for the offer to look at the chair, but I don't think it is necessary. If you have any ideas for rug-nap-suppression, I would love to hear them!

BTW, for your amusement, you should know that I have mentioned my Weeks chairs in my will. Don't want my kids selling them at a garage sale! Thanks again!

Hello Gary,

I just landed in NYC from London to your kind note. Thank you. L. and I enjoyed meeting you and Leslie and our time together with Austin. I wish you could have met my older son Z. who toured the workshop at the start of the process. As a new college freshman pursuing engineering management, he was inspired by the intersection of form and function as well as the aspect of a family business all present in your company. L. has often mentioned the machines he saw which is notable as he is a deep thinker who has an economy with words.

I am thrilled with the chair and it is truly worthy of the occasion which I failed to mention — my 26th wedding anniversary. I have included three pictures below. Austin has a gift for selecting and bringing out the figure and grain and I found the chair to be as comfortable as it is beautiful. It is a fine compliment to my historic desk and a great conversation piece for our new home. I could not be more pleased and it is especially meaningful that this comes from a family in our town. Thanks one and all for all they did to make this heirloom a welcome addition to our family.

Regarding the bar stools, we measured, and a height of 29" would be optimal if you can make that adjustment to our order.
It was great to visit your studio and shop — a real treat! M. and I very much appreciated Austin's assistance (and patience) as we foundered about and eventually selected the stools.

Yes, we received the box decorated by a grand daughter (I presume) containing a remarkable creation . . .

We had you ship the cherry rocker to us in KS, as we plan to carry it with us as we travel next week to NY for a family gathering with J and S (the recipient). This will afford us the luxury of watching their response to its arrival in their lives in person.

And, that will be a delight!! The decorated box will be opened to a marvelous creation. Well conceived, the execution was flawless with a reverence for the material. The idea of the many days of sun and rain and snow in the growing of a tree(s) to produce the wood that your capable hands crafted into an instrument (a thing of beauty in itself) that S. will slowly introduce another being into the rhythms of existence in . . . let the music ebb and flow . . .

So, though I took a week to acknowledge my reaction to your work in hopes of getting the words right, it boils down to a simple Thank You. My admiration and respect to you and your son and your crew for sharing beauty with us and those who follow us.

I bought the Mesquite rocker from Gary weeks about 5 yrs ago; it is a work of art and by far the most comfortable rocker I have ever had. The craftsmanship is terrific and the wood lovely, it is a well engineered product. Further, Gary and Co. stand behind their product. I recently had a break in one of the rockers and when I contacted them, they stood behind their warranty and arranged a repair. Hello and Happy New Year!!

He's rocking in it now. As I expected, the chair was quite a surprise and an adjustment from what he was sitting in, but he's been in it every day since the 25th, with no complaints. In fact, he even said it's more comfortable than he expected it to be (this is a huge compliment from someone who does not receive gifts well AT ALL).

The delivery arrived without incident on the 22nd. I should tell you that the folks who brought it to me were very helpful unloading, unwrapping and even carting away the packing materials; I think they were eager to see what was inside! It's a beautiful chair, and I know that one day soon, I'll be ordering from you again . . . for me, in walnut!

I fought my way into the second [Terrell] table last night, just a little bubble-wrap to clear . . . it's the maple, and it is soooo lovely, the grain is just so deep. They are both just so wonderful, and I'm really glad I got them!

The packing, well, that's star packing, for sure. I have plenty of wrap to send christmas with, and the bulk left over goes to 'Go Postal' our local UPS store or whatever it is. They treasure peanuts and bubble and all, little as possible gets wasted.

Dear Austin and Gary,

The crate arrived last Wednesday and B. was able to be home for that. Since the crate looked well intact they accepted the delivery but waited for us to arrive to open it.
